The John S. McCain International Scholarship for Military Families, also known as the Gilman-McCain Scholarship, was established under the State Department’s Benjamin a Gilman International Scholarship Program. It is open to qualified students enrolled in recognized U.S. colleges and universities who receive any kind of Title IV federal financial aid.
This program, named for the late Arizona senator John S. McCain, is funded by Congress and honors the senator’s legacy of public service by providing leadership and career readiness skills, as well as a global perspective, to children and spouses of active or activated U.S. military personnel.
